KAT at Bat
KAT at Bat is Omicron’s annual philanthropic fundraising event to raise support for CASA; this past year, we donated $14,000!

Fraternities and campus organizations register a team and compete in a week-long series of events all leading up to the main event: the KAT at Bat Baseball Tournament. Here’s a brief run-down of the week’s events:

Day 1: Team Bonding
Team captains meet and greet with their teams!

Day 2: Hot Dog Eating Contest
Sticking with the theme of all-American baseball, our second event is a hot dog eating contest where each team competes against all the others to see who can devour the most hot dogs in two minutes!

Day 3 : Door Chant Competition
After learning and practicing the Theta door chant song, each team creates and performs its own rendition of the original song. The judges’ scoring is based on creativity, loudness and accuracy. (Props and costumes add extra spice too!) Boom! Boom!

Day 4: Scavenger Hunt
Each team goes on a scavenger hunt to gather information, items and complete tasks to finish as much as possible in a time limit!

Day 5: Baseball tournament
This is a fun-filled day of baseball, raffles, contests, music and In ‘N Out. All afternoon, the teams compete in the tournament while Thetas cheer them on from the sidelines.

This year following the tournament, the winners of KAT at Bat were treated to dinner at the Theta house where we presented the champions with their trophy and the grand prize: a lifetime subscription to TIVO.
