Theta Scholarship

The members of Kappa Alpha Theta work hard each semester to earn great grades throughout their college years. The chapter's tradition of academic excellence has not only been maintained, but it has consistently become stronger each year.

Omicron Thetas engage in a wide spectrum of academic disciplines; from cinematography to biochemistry, international relations to business, and communication to architecture. A Theta can be found in nearly every school at USC!

At the bi-annual Theta Scholarship Awards Dinner, we celebrate our academic achievements and honor the professors who have inspired us to strive towards our goals. Last spring, we were honored to have professor James Brecher, recipient of the 2005 USC College of Arts and Letters Outstanding Teaching Award, come speak to us about what he has learned through his experiences practicing trial and appellate law, as well as teaching English and Humanities.

Spring 2010 Scholarship Awards Dinner

This spring, Kappa Alpha Theta was pleased to welcome Bob McKnight as the guest speaker at our Scholarship Dinner. Mr. McKnight is the founder and CEO of Quiksilver, Inc., one of the world's largest manufacturers of surfwear and surf equipment. A fellow Trojan, he shared with us the story of Quiksilver's beginnings and discussed how his experience here at USC helped him become a successful entrepreneur.

Theta was also very delighted to honor Dr. Bill McClure, our faculty advisor. After 35 years as a professor of biological sciences at USC, Dr. McClure will be retiring after this semester. We are fortunate that Bill will remain Theta's faculty advisor. To show our appreciation for Dr. McClure's dedication to Theta, we were pleased to recognize him at our Scholarship Dinner.
